Murphy's Collection

When my beloved Rotti died early last year, I decided I didn't want to get a "replacement" for him. So I went in the opposite direction and started looking at small dog breeds. I wanted a dog that could travel with us on holidays and be more involved in family activities and the type my littlies could comfortably handle on a lead.

I was browsing the internet and came across animal rescue shelters. I started looking at pictures and reading bios of dogs listed. These dogs came already microchipped, vacinated, desexed and partly trained. Best of all, the ones I was looking at, were fully grown! My mind was made up, I loaded the family into the car and went and visited one of the shelters.

We spent almost two hours talking to the carer and spending time with several dogs to see which one would fit into our family perfectly. In the end, he chose us and he couldn't be more perfect for our family.

I was so impressed with the dedication and love the volunteer carers have for these abandoned animals and thought of ways I could help them to raise much needed funds to save more lives. So I came up with a range of fabric handicrafts as well as other handicrafts using dog and cat themes and donate many of them to a local rescue shelter for them to sell as part of their fund raising activities.

On this page you will find the Murphy's Collection - in honour of my little mutt (of dubious background) which came to be part of my life, through the wonderful work of dedicated animal rescue volunteers.
