reVamp Treasures

All of these items come from a previous life. I have salvaged them from various sources and given them a new lease of life - sometimes with a whole new identity.

I start with a basic idea of what I would like to achieve with a piece. But from there the design comes to life as I go along. Sometimes I sympathise with it's original use and just update the look while other pieces come out of it with a completely new purpose in life.

The pieces on this page reflect just some of the items I have already completed. If anything on this page gives you an idea for your own unique piece, please email me to see what can be achieved.

Cutlery Canteen --> Games Cabinet

Salvaged from a local Charity Shop, the first picture shows it's original condition when found. The rest show it's transformation.

I sold this piece in early 2008 to a family in South Australia who had been looking for something like this after seeing one while holidaying a few years ago.

Spoon Rack - Country Kitchen

Stripped back old dark varnish. Repainted in cream and heritage red. Embellishments added.

Jewellery Box --> Mini Sewing Caddy

Found at a garage sale, the first three pictures show the jewellery box in it's original condition. The rest of the pictures show it's transformation.

I sold this piece to a lady in Queensland who loves interesting wooden items, and was delighted with the concept.

Mini Rocking Chair Planter Pot --> Novelty Pin Cushion

Purchased at a local Car Boot Sale market. The first picture shows it's original condition when found- the rest of the pictures show it's transformation.  Height of the rocker is 25cm.

This piece was sold to a repeat customer in Queensland who wanted it to match a sewing caddy she had bought from me a few months earlier.

Child's Study Desk

Stripped back old, thick stain varnish. Repainted in tonal blues with contrasting yellow handles.

2 x Small Kitchen Cupboard Doors --> Wall Signs

Found at a renovator's auction they were sanded and one was turned into a wall hanging to greet visitors at the front door. The other became a name plate above a child's bed.

50s/60s dresser and old tallboy.

Both have been stripped and re/painted as matching pieces for a little girl's room.

Cigar Box --> Chess Set

Made from an old cigar box as an original piece for a Chess set Collector.  Board added in goldleaf to lid; lining added.
